Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale©

The Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) 1 is a set of 10 screening questions that can indicate whether you are experiencing symptoms common in women with depression and anxiety during pregnancy and in the year following the birth of a child. *This is not intended to provide a diagnosis, but rather a guideline to help you decide whether you should contact a qualified healthcare professional.

It is actually strongly recommended that you complete this set of questions with a health professional.

To complete this set of questions, please select the button next to the response that comes closest to how you have felt in the past seven days.

The total score is calculated by adding the numbers you select for each of the 10 items. If your score is 10 points or above, you should speak to a health professional about those symptoms.
